Beautification

Have you seen the NEW Drew Valley Stop Sign Toppers across the neighborhood? The DVCA Beautification Committee partnered with the City of Brookhaven to execute this long time neighborhood goal.

The Committee also cleaned up Drew Valley monument at the neighborhood entrance at Thompson and Dresden. Thank you to the DVCA beautification Committee team members & all you are doing for Drew Valley!

Zoning

In January, the DVCA petitioned the City to provide guidance on the language of the new Average Front Setback rules to maintain the integrity and character of Drew Valley.

On 2-7-21, the City agreed to adopt an Average Front Setback per the pre-2018 rules. This was a major win for Drew Valley neighbors!

Redistricting

On behalf of the neighborhood and at the guidance of the DVCA Board of Directors, the DVCA petitioned the City and the City Council to maintain Drew Valley intact as well as keeping it together with the Ashford Park neighborhood, as we have common interests.

The City Council approved a map that kept Drew Valley largely intact except for about 20 homes on the southern border that are technically part of the U.S. Census tract that also includes the apartment homes on Buford Highway. We are currently working with Councilman John Parks to resolve this issue.

Security

Our DVCA Neighborhood Committee is actively partnering with the Brookhaven Police Department (BPD) to pilot a formal Neighborhood Watch program that would be managed by the BPD for all local neighborhoods. Drew Valley was selected by the BPD for this effort due to the active involvement the DVCA has had with the BPD.
